Here is the rundown of how Team Optics Exclusive on the opening weekend of the 2023 King Price Insurance Team Tournament Trial at Lake Oanob Resort decimated the field for their first win of the season.

According to Nils Laggner fishing started off slow although he did however loose some bass early on on topwater lures, but the first bass that was landed at 10am was on a Yamamoto Heart Tail paddle tail shed on an underspin weighted hook. This fish set the tone for a day like no other. Within the next two hours they upgraded their bag limit to close to 10kg. This enabled them to take some time off the water and enjoy a healthy lunch at the Lake Oanob Restaurant during the hottest time of the day and allowing 69 year old, team captain, Reinhard Laggner some needed rest.

Getting back from lunch the day continued, catching some very healthy Florida strain Lake Oanob bass with a 2.940kb bass being caught close to the end on a jerk bait. This bass pushed the bag limit up to a total of 11.100kg, more than 2.5kg ahead of the second place team Ruffnek Bass Warehouse on 8.570kg.

Jurgen Geiger team captain said that they early on realised that the fishing has changed from the previous weeks and that the fish with the recent rain have moved deeper and therefore they predominately used their Lowrance electronics to locate the fish on deeper structure between 2 – 3m and then use a dropshot rig fishing a dropshot worm in coppertreuse color to give them a very respectable second place finish for the first event and setting the stage for hopefully a good season to come.
